BRIEFS FROM IMPORTANT SUBJECTS @ıccı 2011 Gathered Turkish Energy Sector ICCI 2011, the 17th lnternational Energy andEnvironment Exhibition and Conference, the most important event of the Turkish Energy Sector, was held in lstanbul Exhibition Center, between June 15th and 17th, with a high level of attendance. Gathering over 200 global giants who participated in the exhibition, with visitors from over 60 countries of Europe, the Balkans, and the Middle East, important declarations have been recorded on the energy policies of Turkey and the world, in ICCI 2011. The ICCI 2011 - lnternational Energy and Environment Exhibition and Conference, the 1711ı of which was held this year, was successfully organized by Sektöre! Fuarcılık. As well as 200 participating firms, the exhibition held in lstanbul Exhibition Genler was visited by 12 thousand 263 people, both local and toreign. Over 500 people from 60 different countries visiting the exhibition indicates its international recognition. ®Arçelik Eskişehir Refrigerator Plant wins the "Energy Efficient lndustrial Plant" Award Energy Efficiency in lndustry ((SENVER) Competition held by the Ministry of Energy and Natura! Resources, in order to increase efficiency in energy by announcing and supporting successful projects in three categories, which was held tor 11th time in 2010, was again awarded to Arçelik Eskişehir Refrigerator Planı, in "Energy Efficient lndustrial Plant (EVET)" category. in thiscompetition, the first of which was held in 2000, Arçelik Eskişehir Refrigerator Plant was awarded the first prize then, by systematically questioning energy consumption, as a resul! of its sensitivity in preservation of natura! resources, and by implementing new events through investigating new potentials each year, by new projeci teams. Arçelik announced at the highest level, how much it cared about management of natura! resources in its vision of "Respect the World, Respected by the World". AII strategies in Arçelik are tormed along this vision. ıın'\ Alarko Carrier's Support Plant Manager and Energy Director ~Erkin Savçın: "We have reduced our Energy Consumption Through Energy Risks Evaluation" Developing projects tor reducing energy consumption, Alarko Carrier continues to save energy through various applications such as using energy savinglight bulbs, general lighting by incorporating building automation, making full useof day light, and utilizing point light sources near the benches rather then using ceiling lighting. We have talked to Erkin Savçın, Alarko Carrier's Support Planı Manager and Energy Director, about energy policies and the targets of his company. We started monitoring energy consumption and controlling energy in 2001. We set off with SKADA applications, using a control and command center, equipment that provided intormation transfer and a customsoftware. Primarily, we defined the company's energy policies. We determined our targets in conjunction with these policies. Later, we defined the processes and the responsibilities required tor achieving our targets.
